Maple Syrup Popcorn Ball Recipe
Popcorn, maple syrup, caramel, and chocolate, the combination in itself is mouth watering.
Ingredients:
1/4 Cup Popping Corn or Microwave Popcorn (plain, no butter)
1/2 tsp. Salt (optional)
1 1/2 tsp. Butter
1 Cup Maple Syrup
1/2 Cup Chocolate Syrup or Caramel (optional)
Candy Thermometer
Directions:
Pop the corn as per instructed on packaging.
Salt the popcorn, if desired.
Heat the butter and maple syrup in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Making sure to stir constantly.
The mixture is ready when the temperature reaches 250 degrees F on a candy thermometer.
Mix in the caramel (optional).
Remove the pan from the heat and pour the maple syrup/butter mixture over the popcorn.
When the mixture is cool enough (usually about 5 to 7 minutes), make the popcorn with syrup and mold into balls, like you were making a snowball.
Cool the popcorn balls on a buttered baking sheet or wax paper.
Now you can drizzle chocolate syrup on the balls, if desired.
Make sure to store the cooled popcorn balls in an airtight container.
And Enjoy!
