Candy Corn Recipe
A Halloween staple, wouldn’t it be great to be able to make your own Candy Corn? And be able to tell everyone, “I made that.”
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
2/3 Cup White Corn Syrup
1/3 Cup Butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
1/3 Cup Powdered Milk
1/4 tsp. Salt
2 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar
Food Coloring
Directions:
Combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter in a pan and bring it to a boil making sure to stir constantly.
Turn the stove heat to low and let it boil 5 minutes; keep stirring occasionally. Then remove from the heat and add the vanilla.
In a separate dish, combine the powdered milk, salt, and the powdered sugar. Make sure to add all these at once to the mixture in the pan. You can add food coloring if you want, 2 yellow and 1 red drop tends to be a good start for orange. Stir until cool enough to handle. Make any shape you want, classic triangles, pumpkins, ghosts, be creative.
And Enjoy!
Yields: 1 3/4 lbs.
